Is Homewood Suites Nicer Than Home2 Suites at Flamingo Crossings?
Straight answer: yes. But it's closer than you'd think, and the price difference matters.
Both hotels share the same pool complex β the bar, the waterslide, the whole setup belongs to Homewood Suites, and Home2 guests come over to use it. So on pool access, they're equal.
Both have a full kitchenette with real dishes and silverware. Both have similar showers. If you're comparing photos side by side, they look almost identical.
Walk into the rooms and the gap shows up immediately. The Home2 room is long and thin β it works, but it feels like a room with a kitchenette added. The Homewood room feels like an apartment. Bigger, more open, more of a true suite layout. That's not marketing language β it's just the actual square footage and how the space is arranged.
Breakfast is where Homewood pulls ahead clearly. Home2 Suites does a decent job, but the food sits in hot-shelf containers. Go watch the videos with full hotel walk throughs and see what I mean. Homewood keeps hot food in dishes with heating elements underneath β eggs, proteins, the full spread β and it holds better. If breakfast is part of your morning routine before rope drop, that difference matters.
The detail most people miss is parking. Homewood Suites floors 1 through 5 connect directly to the parking garage β you walk straight from your floor into covered parking. Floor 6 or 7, you come down to 5 and you're still covered. Home2 guests can technically use the garage but it's on the far end of the property and most don't bother. The open lot outside is fine until it's raining or 95 degrees at 9am. On those days the garage access is a real advantage.
So which one should you book? If the prices are close, Homewood. If Home2 is meaningfully cheaper and the savings matter for your trip budget, Home2 is not a downgrade β it's a trade. You give up room size and slightly better breakfast, you keep the same pool, same shuttle, same area. For some trips that's exactly the right call.
