Can You Walk to the Polynesian From the TTC?
The walk from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Polynesian was about 10 minutes, then to the Wailulu bar, a total of about 17 minutes — and I never went through a security checkpoint or showed a park ticket to get there.
I came from the Flamingo Crossings area hotels and the Lyft to the TTC was $13 + $10 tip.
Yes, you can walk to the Polynesian from the TTC. I did it on an ordinary afternoon, staying off-property at Flamingo Crossings, with no park reservation and no plan to enter a park at all. I just wanted to sit at the Wailulu bar and do some work.
Here's how it actually went, logged on camera. A Lyft from my Flamingo Crossings hotel picked me up at 1:06 and dropped me at the TTC at 1:23 — about a 17-minute ride for roughly $23. From the TTC I skipped the monorail and walked. I asked a cast member if I had to go through security to reach the Polynesian, and he told me no, just walk around. By 1:40 I was seated at the outdoor bar. Door to drink, hotel room to Wailulu: about 34 minutes.
A couple of honest notes. The main Polynesian building is under construction right now — signs up saying the area is being repurposed — so you walk around a section of it rather than straight through.
And the "new Polynesian Towers" are the tall buildings you'll see as you approach.
