If you're planning a Disney trip and you've got TownePlace Suites Flamingo Crossings on your shortlist, here's something Expedia and Hotels .com won't put in the listing: this hotel is built to handle large groups.
I checked in on a Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was quiet. Kim at the front desk was great — got me up to the sixth floor, top of the house. But she also told me they were 100% booked, and I noticed the dedicated bus parking stalls in the back and the batting cages and practice fields out front. That setup doesn't happen by accident.
Sure enough, by the time I woke up the next morning, four giant charter buses had rolled in overnight.
This is a well-run, clean hotel. It's actually one of my favorites in the Flamingo Crossings area. But if you're a family traveling during peak sports season — spring and summer especially — you need to know that this property is equipped and designed to host youth sports teams, band camps, and large group travel. That's not a flaw. It's just who they serve.
The Residence Inn Flamingo Crossings and Fairfield Inn tend to draw quieter, smaller crowds if that's what your family needs. But if you want to know exactly what you're booking across all six Flamingo Crossings hotels before you spend $5,000 on a Disney trip, check my full video walkthroughs.
