Yes — TownePlace Suites Flamingo Crossings has one of the bigger pools and pool decks at Flamingo Crossings. It's a three-pronged pool with a hot tub, a ping pong table, and an outdoor bar right on the deck. On a normal night it's genuinely one of the best pool setups in the area.
But here's what the booking sites won't tell you: the pool is shared with the SpringHill Suites next door. When both hotels are full, everyone's using the same water and the same deck.
And these two hotels fill up.
TownePlace is built to handle large groups. I checked in on a Saturday afternoon and the lot was quiet — Kim at the front desk was great, got me up to the sixth floor, top of the house. But she also told me they were 100% booked, and I noticed the dedicated bus parking stalls in the back and the batting cages and practice fields out front. That setup doesn't happen by accident.
Sure enough, by the time I woke up the next morning, four giant charter buses had rolled in overnight.
When youth sports teams, school bands, and dance competitions roll into town — spring and summer especially — that shared pool can get packed. On a quiet weeknight you'll have room to stretch out. On a busy weekend with two full hotels feeding one pool deck, it's a different experience.
Same story at breakfast — when the buses roll in, the breakfast room fills up fast too.
None of this makes it a bad pool. It's a great pool, and TownePlace is one of my favorite hotels in the area — clean, well run, great front desk staff. You just need to know what you're walking into before you book.
If a quiet pool matters to your family, the Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn at Flamingo Crossings tend to draw smaller, calmer crowds.
