Yes — if you are staying at one of the Disney Resorts or have a dinner reservation.  No — as of June 28, 2026, if you are not. 

So, rules for riding the shuttle bus have changed, again you can no longer ride the Disney Springs resort buses to a Disney hotel unless you're actually staying at one or you have a dining reservation there. The same rule now covers the boats.

I know because I walked straight up to the bus loading zone at Disney Springs and asked the cast members doing the checking — not a website, the actual people standing at gates 27 with the tablets.

Here's what the booking pages and the official rule can't tell you: how it actually goes down when you walk up.

There are cast members in blue posted right at the entrance to the bus area, and they've got little handheld computers out, scanning MagicBands before you get anywhere near a bus. One of them walked me through it plain — no resort stay, no dining reservation, no ride. When I asked when this changed, she thought for a second and said "beginning of July… late June, early July. My brain was buffering." That lines up with the official start date of June 28. This is a real, enforced, boots-on-the-ground rule now, not a sign nobody reads — I watched them turn the check into a routine.

A couple of things I got straight while I was standing there that matter if you're planning around it.

The dining reservation has to show up on your MagicBand or phone — that's what they scan, so a screenshot won't cut it. And there's one exception worth knowing: Typhoon Lagoon. A cast member headed there told me you can still ride that bus free, no check — she wasn't scanning anyone. So the water park bus is the last free ride out of Disney Springs.

Now the honest part, because I've done this the old way plenty of times over 49 trips: this stings a little.

Resort hopping from Disney Springs used to be one of the easiest free things you could do — park for free, hop a bus, go wander a deluxe resort lobby, grab a drink, ride back. That door is closed. No resort hopping from here, no free bus riding from here. It's a bummer, and I'm not going to pretend it isn't. If you were counting on Disney Springs as your free parking-and-transport workaround, that plan's dead as of this summer.
